The 1963 marches were protest marches that happened throughout the time of 1963. Also known as the Birmingham Campaign, the 1963 protest marches were happening mostly in Birmingham, Alabama. The protests were aiming for the government to realise that they were against the ideas of segregation, through their non-violent outcries. There were not only African Americans in the marches, but also Americans who were of the Anglo-Saxon (and others of similar race) backgrounds.
